This card exists for one reason and one reason only: to avoid the new expansion diluting Mage's wonderful removal options in arena.

Why does Blizzard make ''bad'' cards look great in golden ? Guess they really want our dust ( see money ) no matter what.

I feel this card actually helps with Arena quite a bit. It's a good pick in a minion heavy environment and it removes mage flexibility, which is arguably the best in arena. Sure, drafting a fireball is better. At the same time, this gives you another option at drafting removal which isn't inherently bad vs. not drafting any removal.
Garbage card. with deathrattle, divine shield, you may as well just throw two Dragon's Breath into your deck.
Using this on Dr. Boom instead of Fireball plus Fireblast saves you one mana. Using this on Ragnaros the Firelord will actually kill it. This card is also one mana cheaper than Polymorph plus Fireblast but not if you have another way to kill the sheep. The primary problem is, it suffers from the same lack of versatility as Polymorph.
I don't get the point of this card. Fireball is 6 damage for 4 mana. Why would I use an 8 damage for 5 mana card when it's FORCED on minions???
Unless there's a card that modifies this card, it will be largely ignored, methinks.
The one thing I thought Mage didn't need was another powerful removal spell on top of Fireball, Flamestrike, Pyroblast, Frostbolt, Flamecannon and more that I can't be asked to type out -_- I was hoping for fun cards like: 3 mana, turn a random minion into a 2/2 donkey (a card like polymorph rather than fireball for once) or maybe something a little more crazy like: 7 mana, transform all minions into a random minion of the same mana cost (maybe that's relying too much on RNG but you get the idea)
